NZAID are pleased to announce the launch of the New Zealand State Sector Development Partnerships Fund (DPF).
Following a comprehensive review of the New Zealand Government Agencies Fund (GAF), and changes to NZAID’s mandate and policy focus, the GAF is being replaced with the DPF. In replacing the GAF, the DPF will better align the fund with the Government’s policy objectives for aid and implement review recommendations.
The overarching goal for the new fund is to:
‘contribute to prosperity, stability and reduction of poverty in partner countries by enhancing the conditions for broad-based sustainable economic development’.
To enable this, the DPF provides a contestable funding source for New Zealand state sector organisations to work in partnership with New Zealand’s development partners to achieve sustainable development outcomes in their areas of expertise. Full information on the fund’s objectives and criteria can be found in the guidelines available below.
The DPF will operate on a two-step application process, requiring applicants to first submit a concept note to be assessed by NZAID before submitting a full proposal. NZAID is now accepting concept notes, with a final closing date of Friday 2nd October. A concept note application form is available below, and completed forms should be sent electronically to the DPF Manager, Ginny Chapman.
Organisations interested in applying for DPF funding in the upcoming round should note that funding for successful proposals would not be made available until around February/March 2010.
NZAID will be holding an introductory workshop for New Zealand state sector organisations interested in applying for DPF funding on Tuesday 22nd September.
The workshop aims to inform organisations of their eligibility to apply for DPF funding, offer guidance on the application and assessment process and provide an understanding of the work that the DPF encompasses and development work more generally.
The workshop will be a full-day event, held at the offices of NZAID/Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade in Wellington.
For more information on the workshop, or to register your place, please contact Renee Simpson. A programme for the workshop is currently under development and will be available on this webpage soon.
For more information on the DPF, please contact Ginny Chapman, SSDPF Manager, by phone or email (phone: +64 4 439 8832).
