The Application Guidelines lists eligible costs - these include things such as travel, living expenses while overseas, research assistants etc. Researcher's salaries and overheads are not eligible to be covered by this fund.
Yes, provided research is a primary activity of the organisation, the principal applicant is an appropriately qualified professional researcher and the research is undertaken on a not-for-profit basis.
The IDRF will support research projects of up to three years duration, but annual payments will be dependent on the appropriate reports being submitted and approved each year.
The research must include at least one NZ citizen or permanent resident based at a NZ university or research organisation, and also at least one citizen or permanent resident from the region or country on which the research is focussed, and who is also based at a university or research organisation in the respective region or country.
