Contracts Management Strengthening Project

NZAID has embarked on a project to strengthen internal contracting processes.  

NZAID has grown significantly both in its staffing numbers and budget responsibilities since being established in 2002.  The Contracts Management Strengthening Project aims to strengthen our internal contracting and financial management processes, policies and procedures to ensure more consistent contract management practices across the agency. 

The Contracts Management Strengthening Project is a high priority for our agency and will involve:

  • The development of a single NZAID policy and procedures manual for contract and financial management. 
  • Enhanced staff training; good practice guidelines and new tools to improve overall understanding and adherence to policy and good practice
  • Enhanced internal scrutiny of contracts and grant funding arrangements as they are established and varied.
