The New Zealand Agency for International Development, NZAID, acting for and on behalf of the Secretary of Foreign Affairs and Trade, is inviting the submission of proposals from suitably qualified and experienced consultants to undertake the roles of Document Management Specialist (Team Leader) and Legislative Drafting Specialist t o strengthen human rights and good governance in Nauru, in particular transparency of government through sustainable access to Nauru legal information.
The Document Management Specialist and Legislative Drafting Specialist will:
- Conduct a detailed scoping study and create a Project Design Document for the consolidation of all laws and copies of legislation in force in Naur u and development of a coordinated system for ongoing management of legal information; and
- Pending endorsement of the Project Design Document, implement the project.
Applicants can apply as individuals or can propose a team of two specialists to work together. NZAID reserves the right to accept only one of the nominated individuals, and to put together a team from all Proposals submitted and/or commission additional expertise if required.
Applicants for the Legislative Drafting Specialist role must satisfy the following requirements to be considered:
- A Bachelor of Laws degree with honours or Juris Doctor degree with honours, or equivalent;
- Admission to practice as a legal practitioner in a common law jurisdiction.
